Mediation Services are offered to people with with scheduled hearings in the small claims sessions of the Winchendon, Gardner, Fitchburg and Leominster DIstrict Courts.
A court coordinator is present at each of these sessions and explains the process to parties who are willing to try the mediation process.
Mediation requires cooperation from both parties and a willingness to be flexible. Mediation is a voluntary so either party has the right to refuse the service. If the mediation is not successful, the parties will return to the courtroom and have their hearings as originally planned.
Through mediation parties can reach a successful resolution that participants can agree with and has a success rate of approximately 74%.
