About Mediation |

What is Mediation? Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process for resolving problems outside of court.
What does it cost? At MSI, mediation is free.
How does mediation work? Specially trained neutral third parties called mediators manage the mediation process. They provide a safe place for people to discuss difficult issues.
Mediation begins with a joint session in which each party is asked what happened and how they would like to see things resolved. This session is followed by individual sessions with breaks in-between for the mediators to confer.
If an agreement is reached, the parties will be brought together for a final joint session to write the agreement together.

The mediation coordinator will talk to both parties and determine whether a particular situation would benefit from mediation.
